You can’t keep giving in to fate When you streamlined out of your cavalcade, You can’t even remember the words you said Kiss me once before you leave We’re all liars and thieves marching into the sea You’re all waging a war to belittle me The memory escapes me The drowning brain in my skull For tomorrow is the day she leaves, And simply you just cannot see That she will never be able to erase you Casting pearls out of rain Waiting Hoping You can’t keep giving in to fate When you streamlined out of your cavalcade, You can’t even remember the words you said Kiss me once before you leave We’re all liars and thieves marching into the sea You’re all waging a war to belittle me The memory escapes me The drowning brain in my skull I never win, even when I do I looked into the mirror My reflection is misshapen (Barely, I become. Why am I so dumb?) I was the human sum And now my eyes go numb (Barely, I become. Why am I so numb?) Cuz tonight I won’t be wearing white And you always used to run the shore But similar to my second sight, You breed of passion, midst of flight Memory abandons me I’m trapped inside this cage Cerebral shifts and guillotines Leave wounds upon my own screenplay What I’d give to have you here Your eyes a T.V. screen Bandage me in newspaper Like a gift on Christmas Day (Oh, Why don’t you answer my call?) Just know these broken wings will heal And when your bones begin to mend, Blackened wings will turn to white And from my bed I’ll fly away Wish upon this burning house That you’d wake up okay How could he abandon you? Just know that I am here to stay You can’t keep giving in to fate When you streamlined out of your cavalcade, You can’t even remember the words you said Kiss me once before you leave We’re all liars and thieves marching into the sea

I’ll just sit down in the morning With you and a cup of tea The sun gently rises You’ve done well, Chroma Seems like it was just yesterday I went for walks along the train tracks with you Taking trips on roller coasters Away from our home Please take me with you when you go You’ll save us all with all the love that’s on your mind Sometimes you need to let it go To start another show It’s on the back burner …And the answer is “No.” A kiss away from a false safety We were love And now we’re just another song I still think of you today How our lives used to be We became a vehicle for destruction And it had to end See our heart near beyond repair Please take me with you when you go You’ll save us all with all the love that’s on your mind Sometimes you need to let it go To start another show It’s on the back burner …And the answer is “No.” Well, I guess there is no hiding anymore You see the child in me You helpless boy Little boy, know it’s time to take back control You’ve killed enough birds to walk upon a path of steppingstones How could I walk along this road? (Even offer you my soul) Our last conversation in that funeral home Well, I’m sorry, but I guess that’s just the way of the world Because this hurts me more than my own pain (Do you understand?) You kill me every time you walk into my life Cuz I’ve been starting to open up And the world seems know Because this hurts me more than my own pain This constant silence that we once shared Is broken by the silence that we once feared Because this hurts me more than my own pain Please take me with you when you go You’ll save us all with all the love that’s on your mind Sometimes you need to let it go To start another show It’s on the back burner …And the answer is “No.”

All these words are blown out of proportion I thought you should be aware Under these conditions I am not fit to think What seems like a nightmare is only a dream Constantly creeping through constellations Words do not matter when you go insane The sky meets the ocean The sun is so bright This constant emotion Brings me to new heights Clocks and colors in my mind Clocks and colors in my eyes Constantly creeping through constellations Words do not matter when you go insane

Set in stone from the start Born with this broken heart Hung like needles in the hay Kerosene will ricochet Falling quickly into your hands Won’t make quicksand sink less

Sleepwalkers 04:18
Some say this isn’t the best way to write From here this is the only light Then trying take what seems my only friend away from me Straight to the point there is not much to say These noises keep me sane twenty-four hours a day The more you repeat, The more you deceive deceit The words are distorted You hear what you want to You think what you see You see what you need to Believe you can be… Show me the way I made the point, so you showed me Close the heart, you’ll catch a cold From the start, so young and bold So very smart You ruined art You made the mark You feed the shark The genius we create Will bring us to our fate Dying - is being reborn to a world That we understand (we don’t think we understand) Killing - is making a choice that you have broke Your agreement to fulfill your master

Skipping all your secrets and casting for stones Like I wanted to weather the forgotten storm Never thought that we would have to worry so much About the twisting, downtrodden, hedge maze of our home You light the candle Walk the creaking floorboards Picking up the shards This house is haunted Never should we return Dancing ‘round the auburn, You walked down stolen roads Sipping on your coffee you stare into space “How could I ever mistake this forgotten face?” I will travel down to the creek below our home Reliving every past memory, every little acorn On the forest path Stuck in city traffic Waiting for the green Tank exhaust in my lungs What happened to the pastures? You smell of broken branches Of neighborhoods burned down Take my crown and wear it on your scalp You’ve got your misdemeanor and I’ll never learn to salvage All the tiny clouds chloroformed on the brink of this Hell that we call this four-story building All the times that I heard you sing out, Was your smile the answer to what we’re all about? What are we but a weathered human-race? Is the cosmos and we’re all actors or puppets in a play? Go away! Don’t ever speak another syllable to me You and your Diamond-Back deserve each other in Hell that we call this four-story building

(The Arrival) It’s that time of year again Ever changing seasons when Fixed on one familiar star in the sky So confused with all the reasons why Left in the night for we kissed the light goodbye Left in the light for we kissed the night goodbye Every time you see glow We shortly burn at the midnight show Ephemeral eyes will glow As we shortly burn at the midnight show Falling into a hole with the rest He sees his knowledge be put to the test Should he either walk or run? He will venture straight into the midnight sun Virtue is left on the cutting-room floor As we pick up the pieces, swim straight to the shore Every time you see glow We shortly burn at the midnight show Ephemeral eyes will glow As we shortly burn at the midnight show (Aftermath) Narrow-minded warrior This is no way to fight Just be yourself Let your conscience take flight Single-minded believer Nature must take its course Rip off my pathetic wings Informal full force One day you will realize what you have done One day you will realize what you’ve become Crossing ‘overreacting’ with ‘nothing I can’t lose’ He speaks in riddles Just misunderstood Stuck in the middle Of the greater good… Goodbye

about

Orpheus was a legendary musician, poet, and prophet in ancient Greek religion and myth. The major stories about him are centered on his ability to charm all living things and even stones with his music, his attempt to retrieve his wife, Eurydice, from the underworld, and his death at the hands of those who could not hear his divine music. The Orphic Hymns are a set of pre-classical poetic compositions, attributed to the culture hero Orpheus, himself the subject of a renowned myth. These Orphic Hymns are not descendants of the actual Orphic Hymns. The concept of this album deals with the common themes of perseverance courage through discouragement in hopelessness that we as humans are faced with in our everyday lives.

The Phantom Broadcast is a collective that takes form in many different shapes and sizes. It began as the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and composer Evan Opitz. A full band came together to record Orphic Hymns over the summer of 2013. This is a group that deals with expanding on musical styles such as Jazz, Post-Rock, Emo, and Indie.
